LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project) is open-source software that allows netbooting LAN clients from a single template installation on a server. It maintains diskless clients by serving a compressed image via NFS or NBD, using iPXE for network boot, dnsmasq or ISC DHCP for DHCP/TFTP/DNS, and overlayfs for temporary writability. It supports systemd, Wayland, UEFI, and authenticates users via SSH, NFS, or LDAP.
