TigerVNC

A high-performance, platform-neutral implementation of VNC for launching and interacting

Visit TigerVNC

TigerVNC is a client/server implementation of Virtual Network Computing (VNC) that lets users launch and interact with graphical applications on remote machines. It is designed to provide the performance needed for 3D and video applications while maintaining a common look and feel and reusing components across the platforms it supports.

The software includes extensions for advanced authentication methods and TLS encryption. It runs on Linux, Windows, and Mac, with self-contained binaries for Linux, installers for Windows, and a universal binary for Macs, alongside source code releases and packages for various distributions. Pre-release builds of experimental next-generation code are also available. Documentation covers the vncconfig, vncpasswd, vncsession, vncviewer, x0vncserver, Xvnc, w0vncserver, and w0vncserver-forget programs, and the project follows the community-maintained VNC/RFB protocol specification.

TigerVNC is distributed as open-source software under its own project, with releases hosted on GitHub and community support through mailing lists for announcements, user discussion, and development.
