Visit ThinLinc

ThinLinc is a Linux remote desktop server that combines open-source and proprietary components to provide secure graphical remote access to Linux desktops and applications. It addresses the need to reach Linux environments from Windows, macOS, Linux, ARM devices, or any web browser, supporting multiuser and multi-device setups.

The installation consists of server software, client software, and user licenses. Features include authentication via password, one-time password, public key, smart card, and Kerberos ticket; local device support for sound, serial ports, drives, printers, smart card readers, and clipboard; multiple monitors, full screen, touch gestures, session selection and shadowing; adaptive optimization, high availability with fail-over, clustering, and load-balancing; multiple sessions per user, desktop environment selection, single application publishing, and idle timeout; web-based administration and command-line tools; encrypted traffic and SELinux support; and VirtualGL integration. The web access client runs in a browser without local installation.

ThinLinc is aimed at organizations needing centralized graphical Linux workspaces, including industrial, educational, and healthcare sectors. It is free for up to 10 concurrent users, with a community license file raising the default limit of 3 to 10. Beyond that, user licenses are purchased through subscriptions with tiered pricing over 12, 36, or 60 month periods, and trial licenses for more than 10 users are available on request. Non-profit discounts are offered.
