PureBasic

A modern BASIC programming language for Windows, Linux, OS X and Raspberry Pi

Visit PureBasic

PureBasic is a BASIC programming language and compiler that targets both beginners and experienced developers. It combines a straightforward BASIC syntax with advanced language features such as pointers, structures, procedures, dynamically linked lists, namespaces, strong typing, and inline assembly, while compiling to fast, optimized native 32-bit or 64-bit executables that require no external DLLs or runtime interpreter. The same source code can be used across supported platforms.

The product includes a dedicated IDE with an integrated debugger, profiler, form designer, and fast compilation, along with a large built-in command set covering arrays, lists, maps, Unicode, and OS API access. It supports 2D game development through DirectX and OpenGL libraries and 3D support based on OGRE. PureBasic runs on Windows, Linux, macOS, and Raspberry Pi, generating native executables for each platform. The homepage links to a separate product, SpiderBasic, for web, Android, and iOS development.
