Code::Blocks

The free C/C++ and Fortran IDE.

Visit Code::Blocks

Code::Blocks is a free, open-source integrated development environment for C, C++, and Fortran. It is designed to be extensible and configurable, with a plugin framework that supplies functionality such as compiling and debugging. The project is released under GPLv3 and runs on Linux, Mac, and Windows using wxWidgets; it is written in C++ and does not require interpreted languages or proprietary libraries.

The IDE supports multiple compilers, including GCC (MinGW/GNU GCC), MSVC++, Clang, Digital Mars, Borland C++ 5.5, and Open Watcom. It provides a custom build system with parallel builds, multi-target projects, workspaces, inter-project dependencies, and imports for MSVC and Dev-C++ projects. Debugging interfaces include GNU GDB and partial support for MS CDB, with breakpoints, conditions, ignore counts, watches, call stacks, disassembly, memory dumps, thread switching, and CPU registers. The interface offers syntax highlighting, code folding, tabbed editing, code completion, a class browser, smart indent, header/source switching, an open-files list, customizable external tools, and to-do list management. Additional functionality is available through plugins.
