Perseus

Codebase search for coding agents.

Visit Perseus

Perseus is a retrieval engine that indexes a codebase so coding agents can find code by meaning and structure, follow references across files, and return answers cited to file and line. It indexes the working tree, including uncommitted edits, and stays warm so queries return in about a second. Perseus is built by Efficient Systems.

The product offers query, research, impact, and eval capabilities, alongside a console for running queries, watching the planner search the codebase, and opening citations. It integrates with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other agents. Security measures include encryption in transit and at rest, logical isolation between customer indexes, and no training on customer code or queries.

Perseus is packaged as a one-time demo week, a Developer seat for one developer and their agents, and a Scale seat for larger codebases and heavier agent work. Plans are seat-based and include allowances for queries, indexed repositories, indexed lines of code, ask calls, and memory retention.
