YAFFA

YAFFA is a free, open-source personal finance application under the MIT License that you run on your own server, keeping financial data private without requiring a bank connection. It covers income and expense tracking, budgeting, and investment monitoring, with a dashboard showing account totals, monthly summaries, and upcoming schedules, plus cash flow and transaction reports and a budget chart.

Features include multiple accounts and currencies with daily exchange rate updates, investment tracking with daily price retrieval, budgets, scheduled transactions, and CSV/QIF import with review before recording. Entry is assisted by habit-based suggestions, default categories for payees, and AI document processing that extracts payee, date, amount, and line items from receipts, invoices, or forwarded emails into a draft transaction. Security options include optional two-factor authentication and scoped, expiring personal API tokens. The interface is designed for desktop and is more or less mobile friendly, with no mobile application; family accounts with multiple users are not yet available.

It is intended for individuals managing their own finances on a local machine or dedicated server. A free sandbox is available to try before installing, and the software itself is released under the MIT License.
