Swift

Swift is a general-purpose programming language built using a modern approach to safety

Visit Swift

Swift is a general-purpose programming language designed to address safety, performance, and software design patterns across a wide range of development targets. It compiles directly to native code with predictable memory management, and enforces memory safety and data race safety at compile time. The language supports object-oriented, functional, and generic programming patterns, and interoperates with C and C++ types without requiring foreign function interfaces, enabling incremental adoption into existing codebases.

Swift targets embedded firmware, mobile apps, command line tools, and internet-scale services, with tooling available for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Packages cover machine learning and AI, and editor support includes Xcode, Visual Studio Code, Emacs, Neovim, and Cursor. The project is open source, with documentation, community forums, and a package ecosystem. Security vulnerabilities are reported through GitHub's private vulnerability feature and published as GitHub Security Advisories once updates are available.
