SMPlayer
Free media player with built-in codecs for Windows and Linux
SMPlayer is a free, open-source media player for Windows, Linux and Mac OS that uses MPlayer (and mpv) as its playback engine. It includes built-in codecs, so external codec packs are not required, and it remembers playback settings for each file, resuming video at the point left off with the same audio track, subtitles and volume.
It supports common video and audio formats such as AVI, MP4, MKV, MPEG, MOV, DivX and H.264, and can play YouTube videos, with an optional plugin for searching YouTube. Subtitles can be searched and downloaded from opensubtitles.org. Advanced controls include video and audio filters, playback speed adjustment, audio and subtitle delay, and a video equalizer. Skins and icon themes change the player's appearance, and touch-screen devices are supported. The interface is available in more than 30 languages.
SMPlayer is distributed as free and open-source software under the GPL license, with no paid editions, trials or seat-based plans indicated.
