It solves the problem of undetected downtime by verifying failures from a second geographic location before sending an alert, which reduces false positives. The service supports monitoring of HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, POP3, SMTP, FTP, and custom TCP ports, as well as ping and web page content.
Key capabilities include configurable check intervals (every 2, 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes), email, SMS, and phone call alerts, and a REST API. Paid plans add features such as DNS monitoring, public status pages, webhooks, failure traceroutes, sub-user accounts, blackout scheduling, and graphical reports. The service provides monthly uptime reports and online statistics through a control panel.
