mitmproxy
an interactive HTTPS proxy
mitmproxy is a free and open source interactive HTTPS proxy for debugging, testing, privacy measurements, and penetration testing. It intercepts, inspects, modifies, and replays web traffic across HTTP/1, HTTP/2, HTTP/3, WebSockets, and other SSL/TLS-protected protocols. Messages can be prettified and decoded from formats including HTML and Protobuf, intercepted on the fly, modified before delivery, and replayed to a client or server later.
The tool offers three interfaces: a command-line console, a graphical web interface called mitmweb, and a Python scripting API via mitmdump for writing addons that modify messages, redirect traffic, visualize flows, or implement custom commands. It is distributed through installers, binaries, package managers, and Docker Hub, with an ecosystem that includes community-contributed addons, mitmproxy2swagger for converting captures to OpenAPI 3.0 specifications, and kubetap for proxying Kubernetes Services.
mitmproxy is aimed at developers, testers, security researchers, and privacy analysts working with network traffic. It is free and open source, with no paid editions or usage-based pricing described.
