Heartbeat converts REST API endpoints into realtime streaming APIs. A worker process polls a configured endpoint at a set frequency and exposes changes through a realtime endpoint, so no server-side code is required.

Streams are accessible from the dashboard, via JavaScript, or through a REST-like API, with code snippets usable in web, mobile, and backend apps. An optional history feature stores updates for up to six hours, alongside an API and a data view for accessing historical data.

Heartbeat is free to use while in beta, with a limit of five REST endpoints per user and a minimum polling frequency of one minute.
