Astronomer offers Astro, a managed platform for building, running, and observing Apache Airflow data and AI pipelines. It addresses the operational work of running Airflow at scale, including infrastructure management, deployment, monitoring, and failure investigation. The platform combines a rebuilt Airflow runtime with development tools, deployment management, and observability.

Key capabilities include the Astro CLI and browser-based Astro IDE for local and remote development, the Astro Terraform Provider for infrastructure-as-code, and native dbt orchestration. Otto, an AI agent, can author DAGs, review pull requests, investigate production failures, and plan upgrades using task logs, connections, and run history. The platform provides elastic auto-scaling, disaster recovery, remote execution, and high availability, alongside pipeline lineage, SLA monitoring, proactive alerts, and AI-assisted root cause analysis. Security features include SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, SSO/SCIM, and RBAC.

Astro is aimed at data and AI teams running production pipelines. It is packaged with a free Developer plan, a Team plan, and Business, Enterprise, and Enterprise Business Critical editions. Pricing is usage-based, with deployments billed hourly on a pay-as-you-go basis, and higher tiers offered through annual agreements.
