WunderGraph

GraphQL Federation, built to govern

Visit WunderGraph

WunderGraph Cosmo is an open-source platform for building and running a federated GraphQL supergraph, addressing the need to coordinate schema changes across many subgraphs while avoiding vendor lock-in. It combines a router with schema management, governance, and observability so teams can ship changes safely as their graph grows.

Core capabilities include a schema registry, schema composition, breaking change detection, analytics, and distributed tracing via OpenTelemetry. The router supports GraphQL Federation v1 and v2, subscriptions including event-driven subscriptions (EDFS), JWT/JWKS auth, Prometheus metrics, and cost control. Connect lets backend teams expose services through plain gRPC, while Streams handles subscriptions backed by Kafka, NATS, or Redis. The MCP Gateway turns approved graph operations into agent-ready tools with built-in auth. Hub provides a shared workspace for API design, ownership, proposals, and review workflows.

Cosmo is aimed at platform teams, consumer teams, and engineering leadership managing federation at scale. It is packaged as a free Developer plan for individual use, paid Launch and Scale plans with team seats, request limits, and data retention tiers, and a custom Enterprise plan. The router can be self-hosted or used as a managed service.
