Supabase

The Postgres development platform.

Visit Supabase

Supabase is a backend platform built around a full Postgres database, designed to give application teams a single place to manage data, users, APIs, files, and custom server-side logic. It addresses the need to assemble these services separately by providing them as an integrated platform, with Row Level Security policies controlling access to data at the database level.

Its core modules include Authentication with email, social, phone, magic-link, and OAuth2/OIDC providers, plus MFA and SAML SSO; auto-generated REST and GraphQL APIs via PostgREST and pg_graphql; Deno Edge Functions; Realtime for Postgres changes, broadcast, and presence; Storage with S3 compatibility, image transformations, and a CDN; and a Vector database for embeddings, with integrations for OpenAI and Hugging Face. A dashboard provides Table and SQL editors, schema design, logs, and analytics, alongside a CLI, client libraries for JavaScript, Python, Flutter, and Swift, and a Terraform provider.

Supabase targets developers and teams building web, mobile, and AI applications, and can be self-hosted. It offers a free plan with limited resources, paid Pro and Team editions with usage-based overages for storage, bandwidth, and compute, and a custom Enterprise tier. Security features include SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA support under a BAA, GDPR-aligned EU regions, encryption at rest and in transit, daily backups, and role-based access controls.
