UTM
Securely run operating systems on your Mac
UTM is a free and open source virtual machine and emulator for Apple platforms. It uses Apple's Hypervisor framework to run ARM64 operating systems on Apple Silicon at near native speeds, and can virtualize x86/x64 on Intel Macs. It also supports emulation of x86/x64 on Apple Silicon, ARM64 on Intel, and other processors such as ARM32, MIPS, PPC, and RISC-V. UTM wraps QEMU to provide its features, and can also be configured to use Apple Virtualization for macOS and Linux on Apple Silicon.
UTM can run multiple instances of macOS on Apple Silicon, and can emulate older operating systems including PowerPC, SPARC, and x86_64. It is available as a free download and through the Mac App Store, where the version is identical but includes automatic updates.
