Qubes OS

A reasonably secure operating system

Visit Qubes OS

Qubes OS is a free and open-source operating system for personal computers that uses the Xen hypervisor to divide a machine into isolated environments, so that work, browsing, and other activities can be kept separate from one another. It is designed to limit the damage that a compromised application or untrusted content can cause by containing it within a specific compartment.

The system supports multiple operating systems, including Linux distributions and Windows, through virtual machines and templates. Whonix is integrated for anonymous internet use over the Tor network, and the project provides an Admin API for managing virtual machines. Qubes OS is available for download and installation, with documentation covering hardware requirements, installation, templates, and security. It is developed as a free and open-source project, with community support through forums and contribution channels.
