Umbrel
Your cloud, in your home.
Umbrel is a personal home server platform combining umbrelOS, a web-based operating system, with dedicated hardware or DIY machines. It keeps files, photos, media, AI models, and a Bitcoin node on local hardware instead of remote data centers. The OS is accessed through a browser at umbrel.local, with no keyboard or display required.
umbrelOS 2.0 includes camera-roll photo backup, cloud storage import from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and iCloud, background indexing, and search. It runs Ubuntu, Windows 11, or Android in browser tabs, and supports household accounts with private home folders. AI integrations include Claude, Codex, and OpenClaw over MCP, plus Ollama for local models. Storage features include FailSafe mirroring, drive health monitoring, SSD acceleration, and backups to USB, NAS, or another Umbrel. The App Store offers hundreds of apps across categories including media servers, home automation, Bitcoin nodes, and automation tools.
Umbrel is packaged as Umbrel Home (up to 4TB storage), Umbrel Pro (up to 32TB across four NVMe slots), or DIY hardware with community support. Umbrel Home and Pro include official priority support. The Umbrel app is available for iPhone and Mac, with Windows and Android versions listed as coming soon.
