Semantic UI is a free, open source (MIT) development framework for building responsive user interfaces with human-friendly HTML. It provides a shared vocabulary for UI, treating words and classes as exchangeable concepts, and uses simple phrases called behaviors to trigger functionality. Performance logging helps track down bottlenecks without digging through stack traces.

The framework includes 50+ UI components organized into elements, collections, views, modules and behaviors, covering interface design needs such as buttons, forms, grids, menus, tables, cards, accordions, dropdowns, modals, popups, tabs and transitions. Theming uses an inheritance system with over 3000 theming variables, allowing design customization while keeping the same code across deployments. Semantic UI offers integrations with React, Angular, Meteor and Ember, along with build tools and support for custom definitions.

Semantic UI is aimed at developers building responsive layouts and UI layers alongside application logic. It is packaged as a free, open source project under the MIT license, with community support through GitHub repositories, user forums and translation contributions.
