S2
The serverless API for unlimited, durable, real-time streams
S2 is a serverless API for durable, real-time streams, treating streams as a cloud storage primitive for event streaming, AI agents, realtime applications, and stream processing. Streams are backed by object storage with atomic, durably ordered appends and strongly consistent reads from a sequence number, timestamp, or offset.
It exposes streams as REST resources, with long-running and real-time tailing reads via SSE or HTTP/2 sessions, and SDKs for TypeScript, Go, Rust, and Python. Access tokens provide granular, scoped control over resources and operations, with expiration and revocation. A CLI manages basins, streams, and access tokens, including interactive streaming sessions. An open source variant, s2-lite, can be self-hosted.
S2 is aimed at developers building collaborative, agent, and realtime data workloads. Pricing is usage-based, covering storage, transfers, and operations, with metering for streams, access tokens, and sessions; new accounts receive welcome credits.
