pyLoad

Lightweight, extensible download manager written in Python

Visit pyLoad

pyLoad is a free and open source download manager written in Python. It is designed to be lightweight and extensible, and to run on NAS devices, next-generation routers, headless home servers, PCs and Macs across a wide range of operating systems and hardware platforms. It supports common video sites, one-click hosters, container formats and well-known web standards, and can be managed entirely through a web interface for remote access.

The software includes a web user interface, a command line interface and a documented Application Programming Interface accessible by external tools and cross-platform apps. A variety of plugins automate common tasks and support unattended operation. Optional packages add capabilities such as captcha recognition, SSL support, container decryption, RSS parsing and additional web interface responsiveness. It runs on Python 2.5 through 2.7, with pre-built packages and source code available for installation.

pyLoad is intended for users who want a self-hosted download manager on network-attached or headless hardware, as well as on desktop systems. It is distributed as free and open source software, with no paid editions, trials or seat-based or usage-based licensing described.
