Apache Airflow is an open-source platform for programmatically authoring, scheduling and monitoring workflows. Pipelines are defined in Python, with a web UI for monitoring, scheduling and managing workflows, and a library of operators for third-party services.
Airflow uses a modular architecture and a message queue to orchestrate workers, and supports dynamic pipeline generation through Python. Pipelines can be parametrized with Jinja templating, and custom operators can be defined to fit different environments. The platform includes a web application for monitoring task status and logs, and provides operators for Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and other third-party services. It is open source, with contributions made through pull requests.
Airflow is intended for users with Python knowledge who need to build workflows such as ML models, data transfers and infrastructure management. It is available as open-source software; no paid editions, trials or seat-based pricing are described on the provided pages.
