PmWiki

A wiki-based content-management system for collaborative creation and maintenance of sites

Visit PmWiki

PmWiki is a PHP-based wiki content-management system for building and maintaining collaborative websites. Pages are edited in the browser through an Edit link using simple markup rules, so contributors do not need to know HTML or CSS. Content is stored as flat files, eliminating the need for a database, and editing access can be opened to the public or limited to selected groups of authors.

Core capabilities include password protection at the site, group, or page level, with optional integration with external authentication sources such as .htaccess, LDAP, and MySQL. Administrators can customize appearance through skins and templates, and extend functionality with recipes from the PmWiki Cookbook. Additional features include page history with restore links, simultaneous edit handling, search across the site or a group, categories, navigation trails, backlinks, RSS and Atom feeds, embedded forms, user-uploaded attachments, and support for multiple languages and UTF-8.

PmWiki is distributed under the GNU General Public License and is designed for self-hosted installation and maintenance. It runs on PHP and supports wiki farms for hosting multiple wikis from one installation. No free plan, trial, or paid editions are described.
