plugNmeet

Open-source web conferencing system

Visit plugNmeet

plugNmeet is a self-hosted, white-label WebRTC video conferencing engine for meetings, virtual classrooms, webinars, and embedded video chat. Participants join in a browser with no downloads or plugins, and the deployment runs on your own infrastructure via a single install script using Docker, LiveKit, and NATS, or through plugNmeet Cloud.

Core features include a shared whiteboard with file annotation, collaborative notepad, synced video playback, embedded web apps, breakout rooms, quiz-mode polls, raise hand, waiting room, shared notes, and per-user locks. Recording produces MP4 files, and RTMP/WHIP streaming supports YouTube, Facebook, and OBS studio input. An AI meeting agent provides live captions, spoken translation, transcripts, summaries, and a chat assistant using your own AI provider. SIP phone dial-in allows audio-only joining, and adaptive quality adjusts to weaker connections. Security includes WebRTC defaults with optional end-to-end encryption. Integration options include a WordPress plugin, Moodle plugin, Joomla, LTI/LMS support for Canvas and Chamilo, BBB API migration, API and SDKs with PHP, JavaScript, and webhooks, plus native embedding through the getClientFiles API. Theming covers URLs, logos, colors, and features without code forks.

It is aimed at online teaching, workshops, webinars, telehealth, consulting, and product teams embedding video chat. The project is offered as free open-source software for self-hosting, with a cloud option for those who prefer not to manage operations.
