PinePods

Self-hosted podcast server with cross-device sync.

Visit PinePods

PinePods is a self-hosted, open-source podcast server built with a Rust backend and a WebAssembly frontend. It keeps listening position, settings, themes, and subscriptions in a central database, so a user's state follows them across devices. It also supports multi-user libraries with separate content per account, and can be deployed through Docker Compose, Kubernetes Helm charts, or on ARM single-board computers such as a Raspberry Pi.

Core capabilities include podcast subscriptions with search via Podcast Index and iTunes, YouTube channel subscriptions with audio-only downloads, smart playlists with custom rules and filters, and OPML import/export. gpodder sync is available through a built-in server or external services including Nextcloud gpodder. Clients cover iOS, Android, a WASM web app, desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and a terminal interface (pinepods-firewood). Additional features include custom RSS feeds, notifications via ntfy and gotify, playback cutoff and speed settings, MFA and OpenID Connect, and archival support. The project is self-hosted with no third-party dependencies; pricing details are not stated on the available pages.
