Perspective API is a developer tool from Jigsaw that uses machine learning to help platforms moderate online conversations. It is being sunset and will no longer be in service after 2026.
The service provides an API for evaluating text and returning scores for attributes such as toxicity, severe toxicity, identity attack, insult, profanity, threat, sexually explicit content, and sexually suggestive content. It also supports multilingual analysis and can be used to flag, filter, or prioritize content for review. The API is accessed through REST endpoints and can be integrated into moderation workflows, dashboards, and other applications.
Perspective API is intended for developers, publishers, and platforms that need automated assistance with content moderation. The service is available through a free API, with usage and quota requests accepted until February 2026. The API will remain active until December 31, 2026, after which it will no longer be in service. No direct migration support will be provided.
