Password Depot
Password manager for businesses storing passwords, TOTP codes, SSH keys and certificates
Password Depot is a password manager for organizations with 5 to 50,000 users, developed by AceBIT GmbH in Darmstadt since 1998. The Enterprise Server runs in the customer's own data center, Azure tenant, on local clients or in a hybrid combination of server databases and local vaults, without requiring an external cloud service. Users and groups are synchronized from Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID, with SCIM handling user provisioning. Access is controlled down to individual entries, and critical secrets can be released through time-limited, approval-based workflows. Security-relevant actions are recorded in a cryptographically chained, signed audit trail that can be exported to SIEM systems via Syslog (RFC 5424). Databases are encrypted with AES-256 and client-server connections use TLS 1.3. A REST API v2.0 lets DevOps pipelines, internal tools and AI agents retrieve secrets without storing credentials in prompts, scripts or config files. Mirror servers and automated backups support availability. The company's information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 by TÜV NORD, and Password Depot 19 passed a 10-day penetration test by SySS GmbH. Support, webinars and documentation are provided directly from Darmstadt in German.
