ParadeDB

Just use Postgres. ParadeDB makes text and vector search, filters, facets, and joins fast.

Visit ParadeDB

ParadeDB is a Postgres extension that brings full-text and vector search, filters, facets, and joins into Postgres, so application data and search live in the same database without a separate search engine or ETL pipeline. It is open source and can be run locally or self-managed, or used through a managed cloud service.

The extension, installed with CREATE EXTENSION pg_search, builds a native index combining inverted, vector, and columnar structures. It is powered by Tantivy, the Rust port of Lucene, and supports BM25 scoring, typo tolerance, highlighting, phrase, fuzzy, proximity, and regex queries, with vector search in beta. Search is expressed in standard SQL alongside joins, CTEs, window functions, JSONB, PL/pgSQL, row level security, and materialized views, while retaining ACID transactions and Postgres replication and tooling.

ParadeDB is aimed at developers and teams building search into Postgres-backed applications. Packaging includes a free Community self-managed edition for a single node, an Enterprise self-managed edition with read replicas, high availability, and dedicated support on custom pricing, and a Cloud offering in private preview that is fully managed.
