OpenVidu

Self-hosted video conferencing and WebRTC platform for building real-time video products

Visit OpenVidu

OpenVidu is a self-hosted real-time video platform built on WebRTC, LiveKit and mediasoup, designed for running video conferencing and live streaming on your own servers or on cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean and OCI. It offers two products: OpenVidu Meet, a ready-to-use video conferencing application with customizable branding, and OpenVidu Platform, a set of client and server SDKs for building custom real-time applications.

OpenVidu Meet includes features such as screen sharing, chat, virtual backgrounds, recording with custom layouts, broadcasting to YouTube and Twitch, and AI integrations. The Platform SDKs provide programmable client and server libraries, low-level control over codecs, protocols and bitrates, server-side media processing pipelines, and fine-grained access control with end-to-end encryption support. The platform runs across browsers, mobile and desktop platforms, and includes observability tooling with metrics, logs and a Grafana stack.

OpenVidu is aimed at developers building custom applications as well as teams and organizations needing a deployable video conferencing solution. It is packaged in two editions: OpenVidu COMMUNITY, an open-source free edition for single-node deployments with medium load, and OpenVidu PRO, a proprietary edition priced per core per minute for single-node, elastic and high-availability deployments, with a 15-day free trial.
