Lockbin is a browser-based secure messaging and file-sharing service for sending sensitive information such as PHI and financial records. Messages are protected with TLS in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest, and recipients read them through a browser link without creating an account. It is designed to work alongside existing email providers such as Gmail and Outlook rather than replace them.
Features include a hosted file-drop link, secure web forms for collecting data and files, undo send, sent message archives with export, delivery receipts, recipient IP viewing, SMS notifications, custom landing pages and branding, message retention rules, and a personal address book. It runs in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge on Mac, Windows, or other operating systems, with no software to install, and integrates with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Enterprise accounts add multi-user management, bulk import, compliance message viewing, group-shared address books, and larger upload limits.
Lockbin is aimed at healthcare, dental, CPA, finance, and government offices handling sensitive data. It is packaged as a free single-user plan with basic messaging, a Premium single-user plan with all features, and a seat-based Enterprise plan for unlimited users. A free trial offers a limited number of messages without a card, and a signed Business Associate Agreement is available on request.
