Free Open Source 2D-CAD

LibreCAD is a free, open source 2D CAD application for Windows, macOS and Linux, licensed under GPLv2. It provides drafting and drawing tools for producing 2D technical drawings, with support and documentation supplied by a community of users, contributors and developers.

The application is available in over 30 languages and runs across the three desktop platforms. Installers are distributed through GitHub, including DMG packages for macOS, an EXE installer for Windows (with a prerelease option for beta versions), and AppImage binaries for Linux; distributions may also package it through their own package managers. Source code can be downloaded or cloned from GitHub for building from source on any platform. Community channels include a forum, IRC, Zulip chat, a manual and a wiki, and contributions are welcomed in coding, documentation, testing and translation.

LibreCAD is aimed at users who need 2D drafting tools without licensing costs, as well as contributors interested in developing or localizing the project. It is distributed as free software with no trials, subscriptions or paid editions.
