Kubuntu
An operating system combining the power of Ubuntu with the elegant KDE Plasma.
Kubuntu is a community-developed and supported official flavour of Ubuntu that combines Ubuntu's base with the KDE Plasma desktop environment and a comprehensive suite of KDE applications. It is designed to be ready to use immediately, with defaults intended to make the desktop straightforward while still allowing users to adapt the system to their own workflows.
The KDE Plasma desktop includes KRunner, a built-in launcher that can open files, perform tasks such as currency conversions, and control a music player. Users can browse applications through Discover and customize the desktop to suit their needs. Kubuntu follows Ubuntu's release schedule, publishing releases every six months, with LTS releases every two years in April. The project is free to download, use, distribute, and modify, and is community-driven, with opportunities for developers, designers, testers, and users to contribute.
