Konversation

A user-friendly Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client

Visit Konversation

Konversation is a graphical Internet Relay Chat (IRC) client for connecting to standard IRC networks, including Libera, where the KDE IRC channels are hosted. It provides a desktop interface for joining channels, exchanging messages, and communicating with other users on IRC.

The client supports file transfer and non-relayed chats through Direct Client-to-Client (DCC), along with an embedded terminal, automatic UTF-8 detection, per-channel encoding, an OnScreen Display for notifications, themes for nick icons, and multiple identities for different servers. It also offers configuration options such as command aliases, tab placement, and colorful messages. Konversation runs on Linux, Windows, and FreeBSD, and is the default IRC client in distributions including openSUSE, the KDE spin of Fedora, and Kubuntu.

Konversation is aimed at IRC users who want a desktop client for standard networks, from beginners to those who need deeper configuration. The pages do not describe a free plan, trial, editions, or seat-based or usage-based packaging.
