EV charger management and payment platform
Killswitch is a cloud-based EV charger management and payment platform that lets operators control access, monitor charger status and usage, and collect payments from drivers. It connects to OCPP 1.6 chargers without additional hardware and supports non-OCPP chargers through an optional Shelly smart switch, all managed from a single dashboard.
Core capabilities include remote charger control (start, stop, unlock connector, reboot), real-time status and usage reporting with CSV export, and a configurable virtual checkout supporting prepayment, pay-per-use, prepaid RFID tags, discount codes, and invoice requests. Drivers access charging by scanning a QR code or using an RFID tag, with payments via credit card or mobile wallets. The platform also offers sub-account management with automatic revenue sharing, co-branded checkout, and a Zapier integration for connecting external applications.
Killswitch is aimed at a range of operators, including residential buildings and condos, hotels and restaurants, cities and municipalities, car parks, offices, charging network operators, and EV charger installers and manufacturers. The platform is free to use with no subscription, licensing, or setup fees; a transaction fee applies only when payments are processed, with two all-inclusive fee options depending on session value. The fee can be passed on to end users. It can also be used without payments for free access.
