Visit Distributed Proofreaders

Distributed Proofreaders is a volunteer-run website that converts public domain books into e-books. Each book is divided into individual pages so many volunteers can work on the same book at once. Volunteers compare a scanned page image with OCR text, proofread it, and a second volunteer verifies the work. Books progress through three proofreading rounds and two formatting rounds before a post-processor assembles the pages and submits the finished e-book to the Project Gutenberg archive.
