Ccache
A compiler cache that speeds up recompilation by caching previous compilations and reusing
Ccache is a compiler cache that speeds up recompilation by storing the results of previous compilations and reusing them when the same compilation is performed again. It is intended for developers who run clean builds, work across multiple project directories or branches, and for servers or build farms that regularly verify that code compiles. Ccache is free software released under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later.
It supports GCC, Clang, MSVC and other similar compilers on Linux, Windows, macOS and other Unix-like operating systems, covering C, C++, assembler, CUDA, Objective-C and Objective-C++. Features include remote caching through custom storage backends, multi-level caches, fast "direct" and "depend" modes, an inode cache, Zstandard compression, BLAKE3 hashing, XXH3 checksums, hit and miss statistics, automatic cache size management, and optional path rewriting, file cloning and hard links. It caches single-file compilations only, falling back to the real compiler for unsupported cases.
