BugPin

Self-hosted, open-source, visual bug reporting for web applications.

Visit BugPin

BugPin is a self-hosted, open-source bug reporting tool that embeds a lightweight widget directly into web applications. It solves the problem of vague or incomplete bug reports by automatically capturing rich technical context—such as console errors, failed network requests, browser metadata, and user interactions—alongside user-submitted screenshots and annotations. This eliminates the need for users to switch to external tools or manually copy-paste information, streamlining the feedback loop for development teams.

Key capabilities include a visual bug reporting widget with full-page or visible-area screenshot capture and annotation tools (pen, rectangle, circle, arrow, text, and privacy blur). The platform supports multi-project management from a single dashboard, role-based access control (Admin, Editor, Viewer), and automated metadata collection. Enterprise features add a programmatic REST API, custom webhooks with HMAC-SHA256 signatures, S3-compatible storage, custom email templates, and white-label branding. The widget is framework-agnostic, loads asynchronously under 150KB, and uses Shadow DOM for style isolation. It also offers offline support with local caching and auto-sync.

BugPin is designed for development teams who want to keep bug data on their own infrastructure. It is deployed via Docker with a SQLite database and has no external dependencies. The Community Edition is free forever and includes all core features. An Enterprise edition is available for teams needing API access, webhooks, or white-label customization. There is no per-seat pricing.
