Apache Causeway is an open source framework for building domain-driven applications on Spring Boot. It dynamically generates a user interface, a GraphQL API and a hypermedia RESTful API from the application's domain objects, so developers can concentrate on business logic rather than hand-writing UI and integration code. Business rules can be attached directly to domain objects or factored into separate services, with dependency injection used throughout to keep the application decoupled and testable.
The generated UI is themed with Bootstrap, and the framework includes add-on modules for security, auditing, command profiling, mail merge and other cross-cutting concerns, along with UI extensions such as maps and calendars. It also publishes domain events for asynchronous communication and integrates with other systems through its GraphQL and RESTful APIs. Apache Causeway runs on Spring Boot and builds on Apache Wicket, Bootstrap, ByteBuddy, EclipseLink and Project Lombok. Starter applications are available for local use, with Java 17 and Maven 3.x listed as build prerequisites.
