Mendix is a low-code application development platform from Siemens for building business applications and AI agents alongside people. It addresses the problem of disconnected AI investments and fragmented automation by providing shared enterprise context, coordinated workflows, and governance across apps, agents, and processes.
The platform is organized around five capabilities: an Enterprise Knowledge Graph (Graph Studio) that maps relationships across systems such as ERP, CRM, and OT; AI Model Development for building, deploying, and monitoring custom models as governed API endpoints; Agentic Development with Maia, an embedded agentic AI that plans and builds from requirements into visual models; Process Orchestration that coordinates business events, AI signals, and human decisions end to end; and Enterprise AI Governance with policy enforcement, audit trails, and traceability. The Mendix Connect Catalog supports data discovery and integration through external entities and curated endpoints. Users can bring their own LLMs, data, and cloud deployment, from public cloud to on-premises and air-gapped environments.
Mendix is part of Siemens Intelligence Center X, alongside Graph Studio and AI Studio, and targets enterprises building web and mobile solutions, AI agents, and agentic workflows. A free community edition is available, along with a free trial of the platform.
