Hatchet

The orchestration engine for teams who ship.

Visit Hatchet

Hatchet is an orchestration platform for background tasks, scheduled jobs, and AI agent workflows. Tasks are defined as simple functions in TypeScript, Python, or Go, with automatic retries, durable execution, and event-driven triggers. Workers run on your own infrastructure while the orchestration engine is available as a managed cloud service or self-hosted.

Core capabilities include background tasks, cron jobs, scheduled runs, task routing, webhook and event triggers, durable tasks with checkpointing, DAGs, priorities, rate limits, concurrency policies, and worker slots. Native SDKs are available for TypeScript, Python, and Go, with integrations for Claude Code, Cursor, Claude Agent SDK, and OpenAI Agents SDK. Monitoring includes a real-time web UI, OpenTelemetry tracing, Prometheus metrics, logging with full-text search, and replay of failed runs. Workers deploy on Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Cloud Run, Porter, Railway, and Render.

Hatchet is aimed at teams building AI agents, background job systems, data ingestion pipelines, and event-driven workflows. It is open-source and MIT licensed, with a free pay-as-you-go tier that includes monthly allowances for runs and events, plus a custom plan for higher volume, dedicated capacity, SSO, RBAC, audit logs, and self-hosted or bring-your-own-cloud deployment.
