WordPress Portable

Portable WordPress package that runs from a flash drive without installation

Visit WordPress Portable

WordPress Portable is a self-contained package that bundles WordPress 3.5 with Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.2.8 and MySQL 5.0.24a. It runs from a local drive or flash drive without installation, and is intended for trying WordPress versions, showcasing work to clients, and theme and plugin development and testing. The project is no longer active and receives no updates.

The package is downloaded as a zip archive and extracted to a local drive or flash drive. Starting the file in the main folder launches it, and a system tray icon opens the WordPress page; right-clicking that icon and selecting exit quits it. The archive is about 12.1 Mb, and the included administrator login is user admin with password admin.
