Will Be Done

Plan your week, not just your tasks.

Visit Will Be Done

Will Be Done is a local-first task manager that organizes work around a visual weekly timeline rather than a single daily list. It solves the problem of unfinished tasks piling up as overdue items by keeping the entire week visible, allowing users to drag tasks between days as plans change. The application works fully offline, syncs across devices when a connection is available, and can be self-hosted using a single Docker command with SQLite storage.

Key features include a weekly timeline with one column per day, project kanban boards with user-defined columns, a Today view, and a stash for unscheduled tasks. The app supports Vim-style keyboard navigation, a global quick-add shortcut, recurring tasks, task descriptions and checklists, and real-time sync across tabs and devices. It offers an HTTP API with OpenAPI documentation for scripting and integrations, and includes import capabilities from Todoist and TickTick. Desktop apps are available for Linux, macOS, and Windows, along with a mobile-ready progressive web app.

Will Be Done is designed for weekly planners, keyboard-focused users, self-hosters, and developers who want to control their data and workflow. During its alpha phase, the cloud-hosted version is free, with a planned subscription fee after release. Self-hosting remains free indefinitely. The product is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license and is built on HyperDB, a local-first database layer developed specifically for this application.
