StackStorm

StackStorm connects all your apps, services, and workflows

Visit StackStorm

StackStorm is a free, open source event-driven automation platform that connects applications, services, and workflows. It handles tasks ranging from simple if/then rules to complex multi-step workflows, and is designed to work with existing infrastructure and processes without requiring changes to them. Common applications include automated remediation, continuous deployment, ChatOps, and automated security response.

Its core components include Sensors (Python plugins that watch for events), Triggers (representations of external events, including generic timers and webhooks), Actions (outbound integrations such as SSH, REST calls, and integrations with OpenStack, Docker, and Puppet), Rules (which map triggers to actions or workflows), and Workflows (which chain actions together). Content is organized into Packs, with additional packs available through StackStorm Exchange. Execution audits are recorded and can be exported to tools such as LogStash, Splunk, statsd, and syslog. Actions can be invoked via CLI or API.

StackStorm is aimed at DevOps, operations, and security teams automating infrastructure and response processes. It is available as free and open source software, with an Enterprise edition that includes RBAC.
