Slic3r
Open source 3D printing toolbox.
Slic3r is a free, open-source desktop application, command line tool, and C++ library (libslic3r) for converting 3D models into G-code printing instructions. It cuts models into horizontal layers, generates toolpaths to fill them, and calculates the amount of material to extrude. It supports FDM/FFF and SLA/DLP printing workflows.
The desktop app provides visual toolpath preview, advanced configuration management, custom G-code with conditional logic, a print spool queue for multiple machines, and OctoPrint integration. The command line tool exposes most features for batch operations and custom integrations, including batch G-code generation, SVG slice export, and 3D model cutting, transformation, repair, and format conversion. libslic3r offers a C++ API for slicing, infill generation, G-code output in multiple dialects, serial port transmission, and print time estimation. It reads STL, AMF, and OBJ files and outputs G-code and SVG.
Slic3r is aimed at advanced users working with multiple printers, filaments, and build styles, and is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux under the AGPLv3 license. It is free software with no paid editions or seat-based licensing.
