Readwise

Get the most out of what you read

Visit Readwise

Readwise is a highlight and annotation management tool that collects reading highlights from sources including Kindle, Instapaper and Apple Books into a single searchable library. It resurfaces saved passages through a daily email and app using spaced repetition, and supports tagging, notes and favoriting to organize ideas across everything you've read.

Features include scanning physical book pages to save highlights, reading statistics, and Ghostreader, an AI chat that answers questions with source highlights. Readwise MCP, a CLI and API, and agent skills connect the library to AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Exports are available to Notion and Obsidian, and the companion Reader reading app is included with the full plan.

Readwise is aimed at readers who want to revisit and retain highlights. It is packaged as Readwise Lite and Readwise Full, with a 30-day free trial and a student discount. Lite covers the daily email and basic library browsing, while Full adds tagging, notes, early feature access and the Reader app.
