RANDOM.ORG
True random number service using atmospheric noise
RANDOM.ORG is a true random number service that generates randomness from atmospheric noise, offering an alternative to the predictable pseudo-random algorithms used in computer programs. It serves applications such as drawings, lotteries, sweepstakes, online games, scientific work, and art. The service has operated since 1998 and is run by Randomness and Integrity Services Ltd.
Its tools include an Integer Generator, Sequence Generator, Integer Set Generator, Gaussian Generator, Decimal Fraction Generator, and Raw Random Bytes, along with a List Randomizer, String Generator, Password Generator, and generators for times, dates, geographic coordinates, bitmaps, and hex color codes. Games and lottery tools cover Lottery Quick Pick, Keno Quick Pick, Coin Flipper, Dice Roller, and Playing Card Shuffler. An HTTP API allows automated clients to retrieve random numbers, and widget wizards embed generators on web pages. A Third-Party Draw Service supports organized online drawings, with completed drawings published in public records.
The generators are available as free services for general use, while the Third-Party Draw Service is a paid offering priced per drawing. Account features include a daily quota of random bits, and the site is available in multiple languages.
