OBS Studio
Free and open source software for video recording and live streaming.
OBS Studio is a free, open-source application for recording video and broadcasting live streams on Windows, macOS and Linux. It lets users build scenes from multiple sources, including window captures, images, text, browser windows, webcams and capture cards, and switch between an unlimited number of scenes using custom transitions. It includes an audio mixer with per-source filters such as noise gate, noise suppression and gain, plus VST plugin support.
Other capabilities include a modular Dock UI that can be rearranged and popped out into separate windows, a Settings panel for broadcast and recording configuration, hotkeys for actions like scene switching and muting, Studio Mode for previewing scenes before going live, and Multiview for monitoring eight scenes at once. It supports streaming platforms generally, and offers an API for native plugins and Lua or Python scripts. The software is available as a free download for Windows 10 and 11, macOS 13.0 or newer, and Linux.
