Neutralinojs

Build lightweight cross-platform desktop apps with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Visit Neutralinojs

Neutralinojs is a framework for building cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. It addresses the overhead of Chromium-based desktop tooling by running without extra dependencies or compilers, keeping applications small in both storage and memory while targeting Linux, Windows, macOS, Web and Chrome from a single codebase.

The framework provides a JavaScript API for operating-system functions such as file manipulation, command execution and native dialog boxes. It includes a portable auto-updater and CLI, and works with any frontend framework, including hot module replacement. Apps can run alongside any backend through child process IPC, while the Neutralinojs API can be extended with backend languages via extensions IPC. Example projects built with the framework include LiteMan, LitePy, Fonline Name Colorizing and the Vale at Red Hat app, using stacks such as Angular, React, Preact, TypeScript and Redux.

Neutralinojs is aimed at developers who want lightweight desktop applications without a bundled browser runtime. The pages do not describe a free plan, trial, editions or seat-based or usage-based packaging.
