MemTest86

The standard for memory diagnostics

Visit MemTest86

MemTest86 is a standalone memory testing tool that boots from a USB flash drive to diagnose RAM faults on x86 and ARM computers. It runs outside any operating system, using a series of algorithms to detect memory errors. It is used to identify faulty RAM or rule it out as a cause of system instability, and is used by system builders, PC repair stores, overclockers, and PC manufacturers.

The tool supports DDR2, DDR3, LPDDR4, LPDDR5, ECC, CDIMM, and CAMM2 memory, and runs on x86 (32/64-bit) and ARM64 hardware. It offers 14 test algorithms including SIMD, row hammer, and DMA tests, a graphical interface with mouse support, and multi-language support. Additional capabilities include UEFI boot, PXE network boot, customizable HTML reports, DIMM/chip fault location, ECC error detection and injection, and production line automation via the PassMark Management Console. It is available in Free, Pro, and Site editions, with Pro adding customizable reports and configuration-file automation, and Site adding LAN-wide PXE deployment. Pro licenses are required per machine running simultaneously, while Site Edition covers unlimited users within a single organization in one country.
