M-Lab is a consortium of research, industry, and public-interest partners dedicated to providing an ecosystem for the open, verifiable measurement of global network performance. It was founded in 2009 by New America's Open Technology Institute, the PlanetLab Consortium, Google, and a group of academic researchers. The platform allows anyone to run Internet speed tests (NDT test) and provides open data for researchers, regulators, and the public.
